Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill Review
With its modest price, the Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill is another one of those budget treadmills that has recently been trying to compete against the more popular Weslo Cadence G 5.9 and the Sunny Health treadmills to win over more consumers. If you are looking to buy a motorized treadmill for your home, you’d be much better off to stunt your expectations a little when it comes to finding a top quality machine with incline settings, workout programs, and a load of features that come at a price of a few hundred dollars. But that should not be cause for hopelessness because the Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill seems to be a promising candidate to all your fitness needs.
Let’s take a look at what the machine has to offer
Dimensions
The machine comes with assembly dimensions of 49.2 inches length, 46.5 inches width, and 24 inches of height. It is also capable of being folded and can measure up to 26.8 x 24 x 49.2 inches when in that state. The running belt has dimensions ranging 39.4 inches x 13.5 inches which is noticeably narrow for those with larger running action.
The treadmill weighs a meager 27 pounds and can support up to weights of 250 pounds which is pleasantly surprising because it is rare to see treadmills weighing that low to be able to have the capacity for greater weights. Built-in wheels at the bottom of its base mean that you can easily fold the treadmill and transport it to another place when you’re not using it. In fact, this model of the Tomshoo is so light that you can even roll it away while it is still in assembled mode
Features
A multi-function LCD allows you to track readings of elapsed time, distance covered, total time, and number of burned calories. It provides you between speeds of 1 mph to 10 mph which is suitable for walking, jogging, and light running. The Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill also offers a safety key attached to a metallic surface on the control panel that you can clip on to your clothes. If ever, for some reason, you find yourself incapable of turning off the machine, all you have to do is unplug the safety clip and the treadmill will gently come to a stop. This ensures you remain protected as you work out.
Ergonomic handrails of the machine also provide a good safety feature and are covered with soft foam that provide safety, comfort, balance, and a better grip for you to latch on to as you subject your body to strenuous physical exercise.
Surprisingly, unlike other treadmills that actually do provide the feature, the Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill does not come with incline settings of any sort. The only paradigm you’ll have for your exercise will be the default flat surface of the machine.
Build and Motor
The Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill is solidly built with a sturdy steel frame. It appears to be pretty durable for use and has a weight capacity of 250 pounds which, as expressed earlier, is pretty good for such a low cost treadmill. Its motor is a 500 Watts motor and requires 160 Volts of energy in order to be able to run. Since the motor is small and concise, it ensures that the treadmill will run smoothly without the motor making any noise and interfering with the peace of others in the process. You can thus continue your exercise in relative comfort while listening to your music and not worrying about discussing your house members. The treadmill also comes in a flurry of colors such as Black, Gray, Orange, etc. and you can buy a model of a suitable color that complements the color code of the furniture and paint of your walls. The Tomshoo acts pretty good as house furniture too (though we here strongly recommend that you use the treadmill for which it was made; i.e. giving you the fitness that’s essential for a healthy lifestyle).
With all these things addressed, let us now weigh the pros and cons of the machine
Pros
Cons
Verdict
The Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill is not a bad machine by any sorts. It does however lack preset workout programs, has a running surface that’s too narrow, and does not come with any incline option. The best bet you’ll have in order to amplify the intensity of the workout is by increasing the speed of the treadmill from the control panel. The LCD features are pretty basic and only give the basic readings of your workout. Another persistent complaint about the treadmill has been about its running belt which tends to be wobbly at times and can give off the impression of belonging to a cheaper product. In comparison to the Weslo and the Sunny Health & Fitness comparisons, the Tomshoo 500W Folding Motorized Treadmill pales in comparison.
