Fitness Club Reinforced Folding Electric Treadmill Review

Coming at a nominal price, the Fitness Club Reinforced Folding Electric Treadmill is one of those low-end treadmills that comes with a plethora of functions and can serve as an ideal treadmill for home use. For an entry level treadmill at an affordable price, it includes some decent features, such as the preset programs, a solid runway belt suitable for running and proper cushioning to protect your joints. This may be a great unit to have if you don’t have a lot of time or energy to get to the gym or run or jog outdoors because of hot or cold weather. Let us then take a look at what this machine has to offer.

Dimensions

The Fitness Club Reinforced Folding Electric Treadmill has dimensions amounting to 49.2 inches of length, 24.8 inches of width, and 47.24 inches of height respectively. The machine has a space saving fold design that allows you to fold the treadmill every time you are done using it and slide it under a bed or a storage room in order to free up space. When folded, the product measures at 21.26 inches of length, 24.8 inches of width and 47.24 inches of height. It has a running surface measuring at 39.4 inches length and 13.5 inches width making it good enough for walking and light jogging but too narrow for those with full stride and a large running action. So it is suggested to serious runners to look elsewhere if an intense running workout is what they need.

Features

The Fitness Club Reinforced Folding Electric Treadmill has a basic LCD display that helps track elapsed time, total speed, distance covered, and number of calories burned. It also has a scan mode allowing the readings to repeat without you having to manually press the button thus helping you keep track of the progress. It has speeds ranging from 2 kmh all the way up to 10 kmh which can be increased or decreased using the + and – buttons on the control panel. Speed increment options can be set at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 kmh respectively. While the pace is good enough for light running, it must be stated though, that such speed won’t cater to those looking for intense running workouts. 12 pre set workout programs have already been fed into the treadmill’s programming and will provide you with diverse workout modes. The treadmill is also equipped with a safety key which can be clipped on to your clothes. If ever a situation befalls where you cannot stop the treadmill using the control panel, all you’ll need to do would be to unclip the safety key and the treadmill will come to a stop by itself. Convenient handlebar controls also allow you to start/stop the treadmill as well as maintain speed without ever having to remove your hands from them. The long curved soft foam handles on both sides help you stay in balance while you’re changing your speed or other settings during your workout.

Construction & Motor

The Fitness Club Reinforced Folding Electric Treadmill is solidly built and made of heavy duty steel. It weighs 66 pounds with a weight capacity of 220 pounds. The running belt is made of durable PVC and the control panel is ABS technology. It is also equipped with a 1.5 HP motor with a rated power of 1100W that helps operate the conveyer belt over the rollers. Since the motor is small and adequate enough to just run the treadmill, you won’t have to worry about it making noise and annoying others in the house. The cushion deck technology also gives the belt a shock absorption designed which liquidates the impact of your strides and ensures that your knees, ankles, and legs won’t feel sore after a workout. This also helps to make the recovery of the muscles run faster. One downside to the treadmill is that treadmill does not feature is the lack of incline options. This may disillusion some but considering its budget friendly price-tag as well as the fact that this model caters only for home gyms, the lack of incline is  understandable if not completely forgivable. Having seen all the aforementioned features, let us weigh the pros and cons.

Pros

  • Budget friendly and inexpensive
  • 12 pre-set automatic workout programs
  • Good handlebar controls
  • Emergency start and stop button on handrails for convenience and protection
  • 5 HP low noise motor for smoother work out.

Cons

  • The lack of incline options leaves something to be desired
  • The speed settings, low powered motor, and narrow running surface does not make the treadmill convenient for tall people with large running action

Verdict

We’ll be honest, the Fitness Club Reinforced Folding Electric Treadmill is a really a very good machine which is designed primordially to give you a reliable exercise machine in your own home. It may be limited in the fact that it won’t cater to those needing intense workouts but it is perfect for those who cannot regularly go to the gym and are thus in want of a treadmill at home. Yes, the lack of incline is a let=down but it certainly does not mar the treadmill’s good characteristics. If you’re still not convinced then we suggest that you take a look at Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill. It’ll be much better suited to your criteria.
